The Automotive Tramway Union (UTA) and the Argentine Federation of Automotive Passenger Transporters (fatapp) could sign a “salary agreement” during the day that would annul the continuity of the strike that began this Tuesday, which was scheduled for Thursday and Friday throughout the country except the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).
This was announced last night by the union headed by Roberto Fernández, who gave an account of this meeting that would take place in the next few hours to “sign the salary agreement and present it in the labor portfolio.”
If this meeting takes place, “the union action measure arranged for Thursday and Friday would be without effect”reported the UTA through a statement.
The workers gathered in the UTA developed during the day of Tuesday a general strike of activities that intended to last 72 hours, with an interval to collaborate with the transfer during the National Census.
The measure of force was met with “high compliance” during the first day in the provinces and did not affect services in the city of Buenos Aires and the suburbs of Buenos Aires.
On the other hand, UTA reported in the statement released Tuesday night that it will convene a federal march to the National Congress to “request the enactment of a federal transportation law that addresses the problem of passenger transportation in the interior of the country” .
