With the arrival of the end of the year festivities, the use of fireworks increases, especially in the child population, so the health authorities warn that it is adults who handle these devices since they can cause serious accidents if they are not used correctly.

“A child with a pyrotechnic device is the responsibility of the parents who provide the money to purchase these products and the merchants who sell them regardless of the consequences that this may lead to the infant,” said the director of Promotion of the Health, Gabriela García de Salazar.

He argued that handling improperly carries a number of risks, such as loss of hearing and sight, burns to the body, injuries to the hands and feet and in the worst case, death.

In this sense, he pointed out that the Minsa recommends adults, who buy this product, be careful when handling these objects and avoid handling by children as much as possible.

He pointed out that the first cases of accidents due to pyrotechnic devices have already been presented in the burned room of the Children’s Hospital and insisted that parents must be vigilant so that a complicated situation does not occur and spend the parties at home and not in a hospital.
