After the senior men’s volleyball team was disqualified from the Central American in Guatemala, the director of Pandeportes, Héctor Brands, announced that he has instructed the entity’s legal team to initiate the pertinent proceedings regarding what happened and thus, define responsibilities.
According to the complaint, the athletes learned at the Tocumen International Airport that they would not be part of the tournament, which paid for their own uniforms and preparation to represent the country in the absence of support from the federation.
Some reports indicate that the Government supported with the tickets, however, in the end the team did not travel because the federation did not register in the correct way, thus being disqualified.
Athletes demand new elections to remove the current board of directors and that their discipline be respected.
I have instructed our legal team in @pandeportes to initiate the pertinent proceedings with respect to what happened with the Men’s Volleyball Team to define responsibilities.
