Panamanian surfing with historic gold medals in the Central American and Caribbean Games El Salvador 2023

Surf athletes Edwin Núñez and Verónica Correa managed to win two gold medals in the final male and female Bodyboard Prone competitions of the Central American and Caribbean Games El Salvador 2023.
Verónica Correa took first place and the gold medal with a score of 13.50, clearly surpassing her rivals. The silver medal went to Anais Mendoza from Puerto Rico who had a score of 9.84 and the bronze medal was obtained by Rosmarky Álvarez from Venezuela with 8.77

While in the Men’s Bodyboard category, Edwin Núñez took the gold medal with a score of 14.93, beating the Venezuelan Jesús Arocha who scored 13.23, achieving the silver medal and the bronze went to Alfonso Aguilar with 11.80

With this result, Panama has 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals in the games, it should be noted that the gold medals achieved by Panamanian athletes are in sports that traditionally did not achieve medals in Central American and Caribbean countries (Gymnastics and Surf) but now they have done a great job demonstrating their growth in the region
