Panama reports 12,351 positive cases, 77,438 active and 71 patients in ICU

The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health reports for this Thursday, January 20, 614,957 cases accumulated by Covid-19, of which 12,351 turned out to be new positive cases.

Unfortunately, in the last 24 hours, 10 deaths were registered, in addition, 1 death from previous dates is updated for a cumulative total of 7,565 and a lethality of 1.2%.

Health personnel applied 36,057 tests for a positivity of 34.3%.

Active cases total 77,438, of which 76,738 are in home isolation and 700 hospitalized.

The patients who are in isolation are divided into 76,228 at home and 510 in hotels.

Those hospitalized total 629 in the ward and 71 in the Intensive Care Unit.

The Ministry of Health reminds the population not to lower their guard and continue to apply biosafety measures, such as the use of a mask, alcohol gel, a face shield in public passenger transport, hand washing, physical distancing and the use of of alcohol.

Starting this Thursday, January 20, until Saturday, January 22, pediatric vaccination will be carried out for children between 5 and 11 years of age, in circuits 8-6 in San Miguelito and in circuits 8-10, which includes Central Panama and East Panama.
