Panama registers 15 deaths in the last 24 hours from COVID-19

In the last 24 hours, Panama registered 644 thousand 683 confirmed accumulated cases of COVID-19, of which 7 thousand 164 cases correspond to today. In addition, 15 new deaths were reported, for a total of 7,598 deaths and a lethality of 1.2%.

The number of recoveries amounted to 553 thousand 742 and 19 thousand 745 tests were applied for a positivity of 36.3%.

Meanwhile, the active cases total 83 thousand 343, while in home isolation there are 82 thousand 512 people, divided into 82 thousand 2 at home and 510 in hotels. Those hospitalized add up to 831, 747 in the ward and 84 in the ICU.

Vaccination report

The Expanded Program on Immunization highlighted in its report that a total of 6,948,577 doses of vaccines against COVID-19 have been applied in Panama. Of that total, 3 million 197 thousand 534 first doses have been placed; 2 million 849 thousand 644 second doses and 891 thousand 784 reinforcement doses.

The PAI highlighted in its report that the figure of 51,000 pediatric doses applied was reached in the country, thanks to the updating of data emanating from all regions.

With a total of 890 applied doses, the pediatric vaccination day against COVID-19, for children between 5 and 11 years of age, culminates in circuit 8-6 San Miguelito.

The Ministry of Health reminds the population not to lower their guard and continue to apply biosafety measures, such as the use of a mask, alcohol gel, a face shield on public transport, hand washing, physical distancing, and the use of alcohol. .
