Panama once again receives more than 100,000 Pfizer vaccines against Covid-19

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Tuesday the arrival in the country of batch number 47 of the vaccines against Covid-19, which began to arrive in Panama on January 20.

At noon, a shipment with 100,620 doses of Covid-19 vaccines from the pharmaceutical house Pfizer arrived at the cargo terminal of the Tocumen East International Airport.

Edgar Cotto, director of the Colón Health Region, received this new batch on behalf of the Government.

Cotto stated that this week vaccination days will be carried out by sweeps on December 20, 21 and 22 in circuit 3-1 and for days 27, 28, 29 and 30 in circuit 3-2, where the population with first and second booster doses.

“We are also carrying out verification operations of Executive Decree No. 852 in the transportation system, restaurants and bars due to the use of the face shield and masks,” Cotto explained.

For her part, the head of the Expanded Immunization Program, Itzel Slocum de Hewitt, called on the population, especially parents, to attend health centers to comply with their vaccination schedule.
