Panama falls to Venezuela in the U12 Pre-World Cup

Press. Fedebeis. Venezuela unleashed a strong offensive of 17 hits and took advantage of their batting, to beat Panama 20 runs to 11 in a match this Monday at noon in the Pre-World Championship that is played in Aguascalientes, Mexico and that grants four places to the World Cup in Taiwan 2023.

A run in the bottom of the first, 5 in the second, 9 in the third, 5 more in the fourth were enough for the Venezuelan attack to complete 20 runs, 17 hits and 1 defensive error.

For its part, Panama scored 11 runs with 5 in the first inning, 1 in the third, 2 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth, with 11 hits and 5 fouls on the pitch.

The commitment wins the Venezuelan reliever Willy Rodríguez who walked 4.2 innings, with 5 hits, 5 runs, 4 were earned, bowling 5 and striking out 4. Roger Vásquez, third of 6 pitchers used by the Panamanian pilot Elpidio Pinto, loses the game.

The best at bats for Panama were Roger Vásquez 3-1 with 1 RBI and solo home run, Algis Palacios 3-1, Alain Cruz 4-3 with 3 runs scored, Javier Acevedo 3-2 with two RBIs, Juan Quijada 1-1 and Abdel Vigil 2-1.

Panama will face the United States tomorrow, Tuesday from 1:00 pm in a match of the regular phase of the World Cup tournament. Panama now has a 2-2 record and continues in its fight for one of the four places in the World Cup.
