For the PAN leader, the security strategy of the López Obrador government turned out to be “a failure.”

“Faced with the announced decree to militarize the country, Acción Nacional will demand that the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation assert the rule of law and declare it unconstitutional. In addition, we will go to the international human rights instances to present corresponding complaints”, he added.
“In democracies, public security is in charge of civilians and not the military. In this government, the federal police was dismantled and resources were taken from the state and municipal police, and we are paying the consequences for this,” added Cortés.
The leader said that Mexico needs to allocate resources to public security, but not through soldiers and sailors. “It is urgent that good people be embraced and protected. And let the criminals be fought.”
