The Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, assured this Tuesday that after 200 years, in Venezuela the Battle of Pichincha has been experienced again. He made reference to the attacks that the country has suffered from abroad.
“200 years later we remember the soldiers who have made and are making their history today in the 21st century,” he said from an act celebrating the Bicentennial of the Battle of Pichincha.
“We are proud to commemorate 200 years of that feat commanded by a Venezuelan, Antonio José de Sucre, General Brillante, de Luces, Magnanimous, Strategist, an example for all of us and the entire world,” he said.
He recalled that in the midst of the attack that has been implemented against Venezuela, it is necessary to close ranks and maintain defense against external and imperial aggression.
“Imperialism has always tried to underestimate the FANB’s Moral Fortress, seeking to fragment, divide and finish it, but our liberating blood, our capacity for strategy and love for the Homeland always leads us to victory against any enemy,” he said.
