Pedernales, DR.- The isolated system in Pedernales consists of three circuits to distribute the energy produced by five EGE Haina generators from its central office in that town. One of these generators had gone out of service on Monday and was covered by an emergency unit in less than 24 hours. Currently, all the machines are operating normally, since the generator that had gone out of service was restored yesterday.
The constant overload with which the distribution circuits, managed by Edesur, have been operating, causes the lines to heat up. This overcurrent causes trips that affect the supply and also puts the integrity of the EGE Haina generation units at risk.
For several years now, EGE Haina has been alerting Edesur about the need to efficiently manage circuit loads and to make adjustments to network topology to ensure reliable operation.
Likewise, the completion of the Edesur Substation is required, which will allow the interconnection of the Pedernales Transmission Line to the National Interconnected Electric System (SENI), to respond to the growing demand for energy, due to the development of tourism in that province.
At the end of this week, the Unified Council of Distribution Companies (CUED) and the new administration of EDESUR were informed of this situation, and they have proceeded diligently in advancing these projects.
