Some 14 students and a teacher have been complying with home isolation after testing positive for coronavirus. The patients are from provinces of HuancayoChupaca and Tarma, 70% have a first dose of the vaccine and only 30% have a second dose, the ages of the students fluctuate between 10 to 16 years, reported the Regional Directorate of Health in Junín.
“The best show of love that we can give our children is to vaccinate them so that they have a happy return to school. It is true that many minors can pass the disease asymptomatically, but we do not know the consequences in the future. In some cases, consequences such as neurological injuries, lung problems and others can be generated,” said the director in charge of Diresa Junín, Luis Zúñiga Villacresis.
He recalled that it is the parents of the family who are responsible for their minors being vaccinated or not and the educational community for maintaining the social distance from student to student, respecting the capacity according to the classroom space, requesting the use of the mask in a mandatory way. , generate hand washing spaces and open wide and ventilated places for the consumption of snacks.
He also indicated that a first dose of the vaccine does not completely protect, a second dose only reaches 90 to 95%, but the defenses drop from 3 to 6 months, it is therefore necessary to receive a third dose of the vaccine to continue protecting against this sickness.
