Deputy Adames once again received the support of the 15 dissident deputies of the Democratic Change Party, who currently have an open mandate recall process.

With 56 votes in favor, the PRD deputy, Crispiano Adames, was re-elected as president of the National Assembly (AN) for the fourth period of ordinary sessions of the National Assembly in the five-year period 2019-2024.

On the part of the independent bench, the one proposed to lead the Legislative Branch was deputy Edison Broce, while for the Panameñista and Cambio Democrático parties, deputies Pedro Torres and Ana Giselle Rosas, respectively.

Pedro Torres obtained 8 votes; Edison Broce, 4 and Ana Giselle Rosas, 3.

Deputy Adames once again received the support of the 15 dissident deputies of the Democratic Change Party, who currently have an open mandate recall process; they invoked article 154 of the Political Constitution of the Republic of Panama, which states the following: “The members of the National Assembly are not legally responsible for the opinions and votes they cast in the exercise of their duties.”
