Onemi decrees a red alert in the commune of Valparaíso due to forest fire in Laguna Verde

The National Emergency Office (Onemi) decreed a red alert for the commune of Valparaíso, due to the forest fire that affects the Laguna Verde sector and threatens nearby homes.

From the entity they reported that the sinestro called “Fundo El Encanto” has already consumed a hectare of scrub and pine forest in the Camino Viejo Las Docas sector, and that it is close to the homes of the place, which worries the authorities. .

Given this, the Presidential Delegation of Valparaíso, in a coordinated effort with the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf) and Onemi, decreed a red alert for the sector, until conditions warrant it.

Five Conaf brigades, three cistern trucks, three planes and two helicopters are working on the site, together with seven Valparaíso Firefighters units; Carabineros and municipal personnel with the support of two cistern trucks.
