The National Emergency Office (Onemi) canceled the national Yellow Alert due to the pandemic, thus replacing it with a Preventive Early Warning due to the health emergency in the country.
In any case, the agency warned that “the virus is not yet fully controlled worldwide and challenges persist to control its spread, so prevention remains the most suitable mechanism to counteract it.”
The decision comes after about two and a half years. This, after on March 16, 2020, the entity declared a yellow alert -for the first time- as a result of the pandemic.
Hours earlier, the Ministry of Health reported 3,495 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, a national positivity of 10.09% and a total of 16 deaths in the last 24 hours. As for the patients in the active stage, these were 14,653.
