The Civil and Commercial Judge of Asunción, Vivián López, urged the Judicial Council to consider a woman to be able to integrate the shortlist for the position of Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice. She pointed out that there are candidates who meet all the requirements to reach the highest judicial instance.
The magistrate held that “we have trained women, with good scores and who are among the first places”.
She added that “if that is not discrimination, it is then and it is legitimate that judges, lawyers, students demonstrate so that more women can be had in the highest judicial instance.”
The judge He also indicated that this Wednesday the Council has in its hands “write history” and integrate a woman in the list of candidates.

“It is fair and necessary for justice because women have a different vision, a more human vision, more multitasking because we are all mothers, we are daughters, we are aunts, wives,” López said in a conversation with 780 AM.
He added that the Court needs more women to be a truly balanced justice. “We are in the 21st century, this should only be a topic in Paraguay and it continues to be a topic,” he emphasized.
