One person died and three others were injured this Friday after the collision between a truck and a train in the Mazorra area, Boyeros municipality, in Havana. According to the official version, published in a note of the Union of Railways of Cuba, the impact occurred when the driver did not stop the vehicle and got in the way of the railway line. The driver of the train, used for transport between the capital and San Antonio de los Baños with the number 2213, did not have time to stop the march.
The accident occurred at 10:40 a.m. near kilometer 13 of the southern line of the capital. A member of the group Facebook Accidents, Buses & Trucks published a video of the area where the accident occurred in which, under the overturned truck, a man with military pants – which Cuban peasants usually wear – and rubber boots was trapped. In the images, several people approach the body, whose body is unknown if it is unconscious or dead, and discuss how to help it.
Among the comments on the video, the person who filmed it adds that they later moved the truck away but the trapped person had already died. Another user, apparently present at the scene, assured that the rescue group took an hour to reach the scene.
