The Ombudsman, Eduardo Leblanc, referred this Thursday to the report presented on Tuesday by the Ombudsman on the alleged sterilizations carried out on indigenous women without their consent, which failed to verify this practice.
He explained that its elaboration took about three months and the document consists of more than 29 pages.
“This was not a run-and-run issue, it was the work of five professionals, three departments of the Ombudsman’s Office, and this has been transferred to the United Nations, to the Rapporteur for Indigenous Peoples, to the Rapporteur for Social and Economic Rights and Cultural. This has a seriousness to the case,” he specified.
