Ombudsman for Children responds to controversial sayings of conventional Baradit: “It normalizes the most serious violation of rights”

The Ombudsman for Children criticized the statements of the conventional Jorge Baradit, who pointed out: “let this bus cry before they put a knife in it,” referring to the approval of the 2/3 quorum to be able to make reforms in the new Constitution in if this is approved on September 4.

“All authorities in this country must have a strong commitment to eradicate all types of violence against children and adolescents,” they said from the body led by Patricia Muñoz on her Twitter account.

“The analogy of the conventional does not contribute to a culture of respect for their rights, since it normalizes the most serious violation of them,” they sentenced from the Ombudsman for Children.

Given the information that the Government did not support this quorum, Jorge Baradit declared: “It seems to us that it is part of any democracy to let it express itself, that this bus reaches tears before they put a knife in it. The supramajoritarian quorum of two thirds is very different of (Jaime) Guzmán, which seems tremendously undemocratic to us, than a short space of time that allows the Constitution to unfold”.
