Documents, money and other evidence that will be part of the judicial process were found at the home; The Prosecutor’s Office investigates an alleged crime of concussion.
Agents of the Police and Prosecutor’s Office raided the morning of this Wednesday, February 2 the domicile of an official of the Agency for Quality Assurance of Health Services and Prepaid Medicine (Acess), in Guayaquil. The public employee is investigated for alleged extortion to avoid the closing of medical offices.
The investigation responds to a complaint filed by the Access Directorate about alleged acts of corruption. In the raid, the investigators seized documentation related to the alleged infraction, a large amount of cash, liquor bottles, among other elements that will be used for the process.
This intervention took place as part of an open investigation into the alleged concussion crime, typified in Art. 281 of the current Penal Code. This crime punishes with up to seven years in prison public servers who, abusing their position, order the delivery of financial or other contributions.

In November 2021, the Prosecutor’s Office carried out another raid on the National Agency for Sanitary Regulation, Control and Surveillance (Arcsa), in Parque Samanes, in the north of Guayaquil. The objective was to collect elements that contribute to an investigation for the issuance of health records from March 2020 to January 2021. (DPV)
