In its report to the National Parliament, the Presidency of the Republic highlights the great investment that is being made for the first time at the sports level in the sports portfolio, managed by Diego Galeano Harrison.
The report emphasizes that for the first time in history, our country will host the largest sports festival on the continent with the XII South American Games Asunción 2022,
where the National Government, through the National Sports Secretariat, is making an unprecedented investment of more than G. 546,266 million, to receive 7,000 athletes, officials and judges from 15 countries and some 20,000 visitors in total, with the practice of 34 sports and 53 modalities, which will leave a great sustainable legacy for Paraguayan sports, highlighted the online report.
This event, which will mark a before and after in the history of Guaraní sports, is directly generating more than 16,000 jobs, among national athletes, judges, workers and hotel staff, which already has 90% guaranteed occupancy in Assumption, Great Assumption and Incarnation; one of the sectors hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, says the Presidency report.
An important issue referred to in the Presidential Report is that as a great legacy, the 34 sports will have sports equipment approved by their international federations and 10 sports that did not have sports venues will have them and this will allow the practice of new modalities ( Hockey, Velodrome, among others).
National athletes will be able to train and compete in scenarios with international standards, without having to travel abroad for their preparation. It will allow the country to apply for other world-class international events, Pan American or
South Americans.

considerably the investment for the athletes reaching G. 11,132 million and 235
