Number of covid-19 cases reaches 27.5 million in Brazil

The number of cases being monitored for covid-19 is 2,930,091. The expression is used for cases reported in the last 14 days that were neither discharged nor progressed to death.

The number of deaths from covid-19 reached 638,835 – from yesterday (13) to today (14), state and municipal health departments recorded 473 more deaths. Yesterday, the pandemic information system marked 638,362 deaths.

There are still 3,146 deaths under investigation. These are the cases in which the patient died, but the definition of the cause of death still requires further examinations and procedures.

To date, 23,969,577 people have recovered from Covid-19. The number corresponds to 87% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

The information is in the daily balance sheet of the Ministry of Health, released this Monday (14). The balance sheet consolidates information sent by municipal and state health departments on cases and deaths associated with covid-19.

States

According to the balance of the Ministry of Health, São Paulo is the state with the highest number of deaths from covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic (161,517), followed by Rio de Janeiro (70,842), Minas Gerais (58,595), Paraná (41,781) and Rio Grande do Sul (37,586).

The states with the fewest deaths as a result of the disease are Acre (1,926), Amapá (2,082), Roraima (2,114), Tocantins (4,053) and Sergipe (6,179).

Vaccination

374.6 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 have already been applied in Brazil. 169.6 million people received the first dose and 154.7 the second or single dose. The booster dose was given to 45.6 million people.
