Ñuble Economy Seremi presents his resignation after being denounced for sexual abuse

After receiving a resignation for sexual abuse against him, which is being investigated by the brigade of Sexual and Minor Crimes of the Investigative Police (PDI), the Ñuble Economy Minister, Héctor Garrido, presented his formal resignation to the position .

For its part, the Ñuble Regional Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Third that a complaint was received for crimes of sexual connotation against Garrido, specifying that the Public Ministry is the one that must clarify the facts after the crossed complaints of those involved.

The political committee of Social Convergence indicated that after learning of the accusations, Garrido voluntarily submitted his resignation last Wednesday, May 18.

In this sense, from the CS headquarters, they expressed their rejection of “all types of abuse of power, as well as any type of sexual harassment or abuse that violates the rights, dignity and security of the members of our party “.

“Channels will be provided to accompany the victim in the reparation process,” they said.

“We will request the strict application of the procedures that allow our party to carry out internal investigations in order to denounce and eradicate this type of practice,” they added.

“We believe that it is essential to change this political culture and show a single line when events of this nature occur. Our commitment is with the victims and with the project that we are raising and we will not rest until we eradicate practices of cover-up and abuse of power,” they concluded.
