In an interview in the Senate, Fernández Noroña admitted that between the head of government Claudia Sheinbaum, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard and the leader of Morena in the Senate, Ricardo Monreal, there is no equity in the unofficial competition they hold to position themselves towards 2024.
He said he was in favor of Monreal’s proposal to hold a primary election among candidates, “but it is very difficult for there to be one”, and since the leadership does not support it – he said – he will bet on reaching the people, but if he succeeds, ” they are going to apply the pejovksy to me and they are going to leave me out”.
“I don’t even ask for a flat floor, there isn’t. Claudia Sheinbaum is an extraordinary colleague, she has a privileged space as head of government, Marcelo Ebrard also has a privileged structure and Monreal himself has a very privileged space and I am in a hurry”, said Noroña.
Fernández Noroña confirmed that last Wednesday, May 11, the Extended Executive Commission of the PT, which is the highest management body, agreed that he will be the external proposal, since he has not joined.
The disadvantage that exists between applicants related to the Fourth Transformation, he considered, “is not a perverse matter”, and that is why he does not claim it.

“But in any case, the only time is when we all ask for permission to seek the candidacy, but before that there will be no equity,” he said.
