Despite the fact that on Thursday afternoon the Ministry of Health (Minsa) through the Department of Epidemiology did not report any deaths from Covid-18 in the last 24 hours, registered cases continue to increase, detecting 3,514 people affected by this disease. .
The death toll remains at 8,199 for a fatality rate of 1.0%. while there is a positivity of 21.7% and a total of accumulated cases of 799, 975.
According to Epidemiology, most of these cases correspond to the Ómicron B-A1 and B-A2 variant and the townships and districts with the highest number of new cases continue to be: Juan Díaz, Rufina Alfaro, Bethania, Penonomé, San Francisco and Chitré.
The Ministry of Health reported that there are 770,363 people recovered, while 16,230 new tests were applied.
Active cases total 21,413 throughout the country, of which 21,228 are in home isolation and 185 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 21,182 at home and 46 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 164 in the ward and 21 in the ICU.
