NL Anti-Corruption Commission endorses political trial against Samuel García

The Constitution of Nuevo León establishes that impeachment is appropriate when the acts or omissions of public servants harm fundamental public interests.

According to what is established in the complaint, the president did not abide by the Constitution regarding the order to publish decrees.

Iraís Reyes and Sandra Pámanes, deputies from Movimiento Ciudadano, said that the political trial responds to the revenge of “PRIAN” against the current president. Pámanes proposed to dismiss the complaint, however, opposition legislators voted against.

“They say that they carried out an exhaustive review of a file with a greater importance, they want to accelerate the wear and tear of the relationship between the PRI and PAN deputies and the governor,” Pámanes said in the session on Tuesday.

“The impeachment request presented by the PRI and PAN has no reason to exist. The complaint indicates decrees that had not been published and is not attached to the truth. Basis of the complaint is completely false, ”he added.

After the vote, the Commission endorsed by a majority that the impeachment trial against García begin.

“The Mayor’s Office is instructed to summon the accused to expose what is appropriate to his right by appearing or reporting in writing within a term of five business days,” says the approved document.

Until the night of this Tuesday, January 31, Samuel García had not made a public statement regarding the trial.

MC showed his support for García this Tuesday, with a publication on social networks.
