For the ninth consecutive night there were clashes in the area of Christ the Redeemer, between young protesters and the Police. However, a presence is observed smaller than that seen in days gone by. Firecrackers and fireworks are used by young people seeking to reach the Police Command.
The clashes take place along the streets parallel to the second ring, since, on that avenue, a Police contingent is guarding the Command building Departmental. In that area, and until 10:00 p.m., a women’s vigil remained, asking for the freedom of the Santa Cruz governor, detained in Chonchocoro for his alleged participation in the case called Coup I.
In the late afternoon of this Thursday various groups of citizens came marching to Christ the Redeemer. As in recent days, the clamor of the protesters focuses on the request for justice, democracy and the release of political prisoners.
In parallel, in the 24 de Septiembre square, a massive concentration of citizens came to sign books to request their inclusion as defense witnesses for the events of October 2019. After the presidential elections, the OAS observed irregularities in the process. The social protests lasted for 21 days and ended with the resignation of former President Evo Morales.
