Nicaraguan regime formalizes withdrawal of its ambassador to Spain

Through presidential agreement 42-2022, published in La Gaceta, Daniel Ortega annulled the appointment of Carlos Antonio Midence as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Nicaragua in the Kingdom of Spain, “with residence in the City of Madrid”.

The new action of the Nicaraguan dictatorship occurs after March 10 was brought forward on the withdrawal of the ambassador Midence in Spain, which responds, according to the Spanish Foreign Ministry; to a warning of possible expulsion of the official due to the refusal of the Daniel Ortega administration to prevent the ambassador from entering Managua Maria del Mar Fernandez-Palaciosrepresentative of Pedro Sánchez.

Likewise, through ministerial agreement number 16-2020, published in La Gaceta on March 16, the Nicaraguan Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Government of Daniel Ortega accepted the resignation of Louis Samuel Wiltshire Hamilton, as attache of the Embassy of Nicaragua in the United States.

The regime did not disclose the reasons for the resignation of Wiltshire Hamilton and limited itself to announcing that therefore “ministerial agreement 16A-2010, dated May twenty-eight of the year two thousand and ten, published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette, is cancelled. No.178, of September 20 of the year two thousand and ten».

This agreement, signed by Minister Denis Moncada Colindres, takes effect as of March 15 of this year. After the announcement, Ortega did not say who will fill the position vacated by the diplomat.
