The Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, reported that a delegation from her government that is currently in China signed three cooperation agreements with the Asian giant on Tuesday, July 11.
In her intervention by official media, the government spokesperson explained that the first agreement signed is the “donation” of 1,481 metric tons of wheat, the “donation” of 2,595 tons of urea and the shipment of 500 buses for public transport were also signed. from the country.
Regarding the transport units, Murillo did not specify if it is a donation from China or if they will be bought by Nicaragua.

These agreements were signed by Lou Zhaohui, President of the China Agency for International Development Cooperation (CIDCA); and the son of the presidential couple, Laureano Ortega Murillowho serves as presidential adviser for the promotion of investment, trade and cooperation.
The signing of these agreements took place within the framework of the first high-level conference of the Global Action Forum for Shared Development, which was held in Beijing, and in which a Nicaraguan delegation made up of the Minister of Finance, ivan acosta; the now Nicaraguan ambassador to China, michael campbell hooker; and the favorite son of Ortega Murillo.
For his part, Lou Zhaohui said that the Asian country, through CIDCA, “will continue to support the efforts of the Nicaraguan government to meet the goals of poverty reduction and human development.”
Nicaragua and China reestablished diplomatic relations in 2021, after Managua cut relations with Taiwan. Since then, both countries have signed memorandums of understanding to promote Chinese investment in the Central American country, although there is very little concrete about these “achievements.”
