Two Venezuelans who were in Brazil and Peru arrived before January 10 with instructions to organize violent actions in the state of Aragua, according to reports.
The subjects were detained by agents of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) after war material described in the reports to which we had partial access was confiscated.
They presume that they are members of the Aragua Train, whose main structure was dismantled on September 20, 2023 when the authorities took over its operations command that operated from the Aragua Penitentiary Center, located in the town of Tocorón.
One of the detainees is identified as Carlos Luis Delgado Delgado, who had a provisional card from the National Immigration Registry of the Federal Republic of Brazil. This person was detained at the Citizen Service Point located in Las Tejerías (Aragua), according to a report from the Rural Command Detachment 42-2 of the GNB.
Two tear gas devices, 34 cartridges for 7.62×51 mm caliber rifles, two telephone equipment and 890 US dollars were seized from Delgado.
In Las Tejerías (Aragua), the criminal gang led by Carlos Rodríguez, alias El Conejo, operated, who was killed on March 23, 2023 during an operation by the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) carried out in Irapa (Sucre).
In another procedure, also carried out at the Citizen Service Point located in Las Tejerías, Thaner Daniel González Escalona was captured, from whom three tear gas devices, a telephone equipment and 548 US dollars were seized, the military report describes.
González Escalona was carrying a temporary stay permit card issued by the Peruvian authorities.
Both were handed over to the Public Ministry where files were opened for illegal possession of war material and incitement to hatred.
Other arrests
In Lara, Yaracuy and Carabobo, the military detained people allegedly linked to the actions of violence planned for the inauguration of President Nicolás Maduro.
In the Simón Rodríguez urbanization, Peña municipality (Yaritagua), Yaracuy state, 20 cartridges for 7.62×51 mm caliber rifles, 5 Venezuelan passports, three telephone sets and a Chevrolet Tahoe vehicle, gray license plate AA040E, were seized.
Germán Eduardo Antillanos Yépez and Carlos Alfredo Aponte Yépez were traveling in said vehicle, who were detained, according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) 40.
Another procedure aimed at stopping the violent actions that were planned was carried out in the El Toco sector, Guacara, Carabobo state. There the military seized 37 cartridges for 7.62×39 mm caliber rifles, fifteen miguelitos, 2 liters of gasoline and a telephone set.
The aforementioned material was in the hands of Carlos Rafael Araujo Sequera, who was arrested and handed over to the Public Ministry where a file was opened against him for illicit possession of war material, disruption of public order and incitement to hatred.
And in the Francisco de Miranda urbanization, Torres municipality (Carora), Lara state, the military detained Jesús Alberto Leal Alvarado who presented himself before the different municipal authorities as an official of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim).
From this person they seized a .38 revolver, six cartridges of the same caliber, a cap with the initials of the Dgcim and a telephone equipment, according to a Conas 12 report.
Leal Alvarado was handed over to the Public Ministry where he will be prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm and usurpation of functions.
