New Zealand beat Norway in the opening match of the Women’s World Cup

The New Zealand team made history by winning its first game in a Women’s World Cup by beating Norway 1-0 in the opening match of the tournament at Eden Park stadium in Auckland, the New Zealand capital.

Hannah Wilkinson achieved the only score of the game at minute 48 ‘to unleash joy in the stands of the fans who supported their team at all times.

New Zealand’s next game will be against the Philippines, while Norway faces Switzerland, both games on Tuesday 25 July.
