Within the framework of the trade mission of the Ministry of Economy, the Secretary of Development Planning and Federal Competitiveness, Jorge Neme together with the Governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil and the Ambassador of Argentina to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Guillermo Nielsen, attended a meeting this Sunday with the authorities of the Saudi Development Fund, SFDwhich were headed by its Executive Director, Sultan A. Al.Marshad, the Director of Operations, Saud Ayib and the Director for Latin America.
At the meeting, the Saudi Fund authorities confirmed their next trip to Argentina to evaluate new plans, among them, to analyze the progress of the project under development that is being carried out in the province of Córdoba.
During the meeting, the authorities expressed their interest in analyzing the information on energy and irrigation projects that the Ministry of Economy had sent themnoting that both areas are important objectives of the Fund and that they aspire to define in that week-long triptogether with the authorities of the Argentine Government, the priorities in terms of investment.
Neme indicated that the meeting “was very positive, the authorities of the Saudi Fund They expressed their interest in strengthening trade and cooperation ties with Argentina; We are talking about a fund that operates in more than 80 countries with projects, it is a very solid cooperation instrument that Saudi Arabia has with the rest of the world, and with developing countries”.
Also, expressed their wish that the portfolio of projects in Argentina have a growth based on projects that contribute to Food Security which is a prime objective for the Saudi Government, care for the environment and mitigation of the impacts of climate change.
The Argentine Delegation promised to work together with the Delegation that will visit the country in the week of next January 23 with the aim of reaching agreements of mutual benefit, in which the steps to follow will be defined.
