Until this Thursday the tickets for the Jamming Festival were being sold, despite the fact that several artists had dropped out of the event for different reasons, the criticism that the organization had received and the rumors that it could not take place, and it was until this Friday at 8:37 am that through a communication it was confirmed, that it was cancelled.

An event to which they would not only go from Ibagué, but from other cities in Colombia and from countries such as Ecuador, Peru and others. Many, who had already arrived in that city.

It is presumed that most attendees would come from other regions of Colombia.

A city with one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, who saw in this festival a respite.

For many, the doubts about whether it was going to finally take place, was in the disagreement that there was for the wide and exotic billboard.

Much criticism was directed at Colombian artists.

“An event dedicated to rasta culture and reggae, full of reggaeton, popular music and vallenato,” criticized many.

Not only that, but the large number of presentations, bands, artists, events that were going to take place in these three days, called the attention of many who were trying to contact the organizers to get a response. There never were.

They didn’t even answer the mayor

That was one of the strong criticisms in recent weeks, not only to the organizers.

Mayor Andrés Hurtado was the one who reported first thing this Friday that he had been told that the festival was being cancelled. He did not confirm it because he had not been able to speak with the organization.

They did not respond from Jamming to the mayor of Ibaguer to explain the situation.

“We demand that the businessman return the money to the people,” Hurtado claimed.

There are millions of pesos already invested in ticketing, hotel reservations, travel ticket payments, food orders, this in terms of attendees.

The city of Ibagué was prepared for the entire weekend with its merchants, businessmen, entrepreneurs and even street vendors, many of whom even planned to travel from other parts of the country.

Doubts about the Jamming Festival

The same Superintendency of Industry and Commerce in charge of monitoring and supervising the handling of this type of event, never made a statement either.
