With this triumph, the team led by coach Tite maintained an important writing, that of not suffering defeats as home team in the knockout matches (in 62 home matches for the competition, Brazil won 50 and drew 12). In addition, with the three points, the team reached a total of 42, with a seven advantage over second-placed Argentina, which faces Venezuela on the sixth (25).
important victory
Despite the elastic score, Brazil did not have a brilliant performance, but the victory was important to increase the team’s confidence in the final stretch of preparation for the Qatar World Cup.
Pushed by the crowd present at Maracanã, the team started accelerated. Thus, Brazil’s first opportunity came with less than a minute of ball rolling, when Antony received it on the right, advanced in speed and finished for goalkeeper Bravo.
From then on, Brazil began to control the actions, occupying the field of Chile and betting on triangulations between the men in front, as in the 18th minute, when Neymar found Vinícius Júnior on the left, who advanced and returned it to shirt 10, who ended up hesitating when finishing.

In the 22nd minute, the team arrived again with danger, but this time with a header by defender Thiago Silva after a cross by Neymar. Chile, on the other hand, created little, especially in counterattacks.
However, it was only in the final 10 minutes of the initial stage that Tite’s team showed more objectivity in the plays. After good shots by Antony (at 35 minutes), Neymar (at 36 minutes) and Guilherme Arana (at 38 minutes), the national team’s number 10 was brought down inside the area by side Isla. And, in the 43rd minute, Neymar went for the penalty kick and moved goalkeeper Bravo to open the scoring.
Two minutes later, the team expanded, when Antony opened on the left for Vinícius Júnior, who, with his right leg, touched the front to hit with a left cross to score.

The second half started with a scare, when midfielder Vidal scored for Chile after a good move by Montecinos. However, the goal was disallowed when the referee signaled offside in the play with the help of VAR (video referee).
From there, Brazil grew in the match and reached the third in a new penalty. This time, in the 26th minute, midfielder Philippe Coutinho was responsible for the charge, who came on during the final stage in place of Lucas Paquetá.
Faced with a surrendered opponent, the Brazilian team reached the fourth in the 45th minute. Bruno Guimarães launched Richarlison on the right, who cut to the middle and hit a left hook to give final numbers to the confrontation.
