The National Highway Company (ENA), together with the corresponding security groups, are evaluating different mechanisms to reinforce the safety of the users of the North, South and East Corridors, in the face of cases of vandalism registered in identified sections and times.
“At ENA we have been adopting measures to ensure the safety of our clients. We have increased lighting and we maintain more than 117 video surveillance cameras, distributed in the North, South and East Corridors, which are monitored 24/7 from our operations center, which in turn is connected to the NOC of the National Police”, indicated Luis Ábrego Guerra, general manager of the state highway company.
The ENA executive added that, together with the security forces, they have been structuring other mechanisms to contain the robberies of vehicles that circulate in certain critical points of the corridors, where the construction and/or adaptation of infrastructure is not ruled out.
“We maintain constant direct communication and coordination with the security forces and we have the Specialized Police units in the Corridors to which ENA has supplied the required vehicles. To contain acts of vandalism, the security groups carry out rounds and continuous patrols,” Ábrego explained.
