The National Customs Service sued La Polar and its legal representative, Manuel Severín Larraín, for the crime of smuggling.
The events occurred on January 30 of this year, where in a routine inspection, a container belonging to the Company La Polar SA was found that contained merchandise with an import ban inside, since it violated the rules of the Property Law. Industrial and Intellectual Property.
There, 1,467 Kipling brand wallets were found with a customs value of $22,829.69, which is equivalent to $20,920,215 Chilean pesos. Due to its illegality, the merchandise was administratively seized.
It is for this reason that the body requested to accept the complaint filed for processing, declare it admissible and send it to the Public Ministry so that the crime is prosecuted and those responsible are sentenced with the maximum established penalties.
In addition to this, it was requested to order the investigation to the Carabineros or the PDI, so that they take the statement of the inspector who found the cargo, so that samples of the merchandise are taken, to make a report on the person who granted the dispatch mandate, among other proceedings.
