The book of Acts of the Supreme Congress of 1811 that proclaims the Independence of Venezuela, was opened in the Elliptic room of the Federal Legislative Palace, in a solemn act led by the vice president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, and the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez.
The delegation from the National Executive was made up of the Sectoral Vice President of Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace and Minister of Popular Power for Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López; the People’s Power Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, the Vice President of Social and Territorial Socialism and People’s Power Minister for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado; the Sector Vice President of Baking Ricardo Menéndez, the Vice President of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez and the Sector Vice President of Public Works and Services G/J Néstor Reverol.
For the Legislative Branch, the delegation was integrated by the deputy of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello.
July 5, 1811 is established as the date of birth of independent Venezuela, being the first Colony in America that manages to emancipate itself from the Spanish Crown.
The document was drafted by Juan Germán Roscio and Francisco Isnardi, under the principles of self-determination of the peoples, and signed by the representatives of the United Provinces of: Caracas, Cumaná, Barinas, Margarita, Barcelona, Mérida and Trujillo.
