At a checkpoint on the Media Canoa-La Virginia road, at Km 74, jurisdiction of Roldanillo and Zarzal, north of Valle del Cauca, the authorities intercepted and detained a ‘narcobus’ that was transporting 212 kilos of camouflaged cocaine.
The funny thing is that the special transport vehicle covered the San Juan de Pasto–Cartagena route for the purported purpose of taking a group of people on an outing in the tourist district.
“Our uniformed officers, when carrying out a thorough search of the bus, managed to find two compartments cove type, where 212 rectangular packages came with a substance similar to cocaine hydrochloride“, assured Colonel Nelson Parrado, commander of the Valle Police.

According to the officer, the bus transported 40 people, who pretended to go on an excursion to the city of Cartagena and, according to what several passengers stated, the tour was given as a gift, and others argued that they paid a total of $500 thousand, all inclusive for the excursion.
The two motorists of the special service bus were sent to jail in Valle del Cauca for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying drugs.
“We managed to get this drug off the streets that was going to be marketed in other countries, where would be worth approximately US$2 million“, reported from the institution.

It is known that the bus belonged to the company Viatena and transported 40 passengers, as a facade of a tourist plan, to carry the cargo.
The best known case of a ‘narcobus’ was the one that occurred on August 14, 2018, in which 24 people died who were on board a bus that was carrying marijuana and that had an accident in Ecuador.
