The Traffic and Transport Management of the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo (MPH) executed an operation to release streets congested by the misuse of public spaces, managing to recover important arteries such as the Jirones Atahualpa, Cajamarca, Huánuco and Mantaro.

During the action, five minor vehicles were towed to the municipal deposit for being parked in rigid areas, and received a fine equivalent to 8% of a tax tax unit (UIT). Likewise, the National Police of Peru imposed sanctions similar to three more vehicles around the Immaculate Park.
The Transit and Transportation Manager, Ing. Jorge Quispe Ávila, explained that the operation responded to a request from the neighborhood board of Jr. Atahualpa, due to the disorder generated by two motorcycle taxi companies. These units, in addition to causing vehicular congestion, were sometimes protagonists of altercations on public roads.

During the intervention, various objects placed by merchants or drivers were also seized that obstructed pedestrian traffic, affecting the safety and fluidity of passersby.
Finally, the official urged carriers to respect traffic standards, especially road signaling and rigid areas, and to guarantee an orderly, safe and quality transport service for citizens.
