Multibank reports more than 4 billion dollars in credit disbursements during 2020

A representative growth in the financial industry for $4,878 million, Multibank reported during 2020.

According to the entity, this growth is due to the increase of $267 million (8.5%) in the gross loan portfolio as a result of higher loan disbursements, both in the business and personal segments, highlighting the growth due to contributions in agricultural loans. , commercial, personal, mortgage and car.

Multibank highlighted that for the year 2021, the asset quality indicators remained at adequate levels with indicators of overdue loans to total loans at 2.2% (2.3% for the national banking system) and reserve coverage (reserves for loan losses to overdue portfolio) by 106% (153% for the national banking system). Reserve coverage, including dynamic provisions and excess credit reserves in equity, was 181%.

On the other hand, customer deposits constitute the main source of funding for Multibank and subsidiaries, representing 68% of it and totaling $2,914 million at the end of 2021, excluding interest payable. Of the total deposits: 73% correspond to time deposits, 14% to savings deposits and 13%, demand deposits.
