Mujica fired at the Government: “For 15 years the salary went up”

The former president of the Republic and leader of the Popular Participation Movement (MPP), José Mujica, was present in the department of San José. There he spoke in the company of other party leaders and its president, Fernando Pereira.

Mujica’s demonstrations took place within the framework of the tour that the Broad Front is carrying out in the interior of the country, called “The Front Listens to You”. The program that has an emphasis on the interior, seeks to bring the militancy closer to the party.

He began his oratory, stating that the current government “thinks that the business sector of the country has to do well.” Because “if it goes well, it will generate more wealth, and that wealth overflows and contributes to the prosperity of all people,” Mujica said. “They honestly think this, and they are partly right. And they have another part that we question, because life taught us that he who does not cry does not suck, or rather, if the workers do not fight for their salary increase, their (labor) conditions, they will never fall as a gift from the sky. ”, he continued stating. “There has to be courage to invest and to risk it and everything else”, but that the government also “has to push for it to be distributed, because if not, it won’t be distributed”.

The cake and its “distribution” is the question, Mujica argued.

Mujica stressed that what makes the difference is centered on “how the cake is distributed”. “As for the rest, there are common problems, hopefully the government can find a better commercial opening and, if we can help it, we will help it in everything we can,” he assured. “Until now, capital has been a decisive factor in the evolution of contemporary civilization, but with each passing day, the ownership of knowledge is more important,” he replied when asked about education.

always up

“Surely we made mistakes, but for 15 years the salary always went up, a few more points, a half point more, and above all, the most screwed-up salaries,” he concluded.
