MSP authorized fourth dose against covid for ages between 18 and 49

The Minister of Public Health (MSP), Daniel Salinas, expressed in a press conference that the fourth dose against the virus of the Covid-19. The age range to be vaccinated is 18 to 49 years old.

On Tuesday, May 17, the agenda will open and people with comorbidities will have preference. The head of the Health portfolio said that those who have received two doses of Sinovac and one of Pfizer may be inoculated.

“In April the cessation of the health emergency was decreed, but the pandemic did not end. It is not the end of the pandemic, we are seeing a rebound in cases in the Americas and in the world, albeit less seriously,” Salinas added at a press conference.

“From Monday to Thursday of last week we had 1,172 new cases and from Monday to Thursday of this week we have recorded 2,636 cases. It is opportune to highlight the increase in cases that are occurring above all in the 18 to 49 age range. These are cases that occur in labor outbreaks that later lead to intrafamily outbreaks and some cases at educational levels.

In addition, from the Ministry of Public Health, people continue to be encouraged to practice healthy hygiene habits, such as hand washing, alcohol gel and face masks in closed places with large concentrations of the public.
