Elected governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, Eduardo Riedel (PSDB) published a thank you post to voters on his Facebook account. According to him, the future of the south of Mato Grosso will be “prosperous and inclusive”.
“We achieved this victory thanks to the efforts of all of you who believe in a prosperous and inclusive future for Mato Grosso do Sul. You can be sure that I will govern this state for everyone, and I will make the result reach the lives of each one of you”, said the governor-elect with 56.9% of valid votes (808 thousand votes). He ran for office with Captain Contar, who got 43.1% of the votes (612,000 votes).
Riedel was a candidate for the PSDB/Cidadania federation in coalition with Republicans, PP, PSB, PL and PDT. He was president of the Deliberative Council of Sebrae and director of the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA), in addition to having been state secretary of Government and Infrastructure.
“Thank you so much for your trust and strength. Together we will transform the reality of Mato Grosso do Sul”, adds the post.
