On the morning of this Thursday, June 29, the 37th weapons destruction ceremony was held at the Weapons Destruction Center located at the National Police headquarters in Ancón, a total of 1,020 firearms of various types and calibers were destroyed. which were seized in different actions by the police and judicial authorities of our country.
The breakdown reveals that there are 165 pistols, 772 revolvers, 45 shotguns, 14 rifles, six pellets, four nipples, one carbine, six rifles, one submachine gun, five muskets and one submachine gun.
The figure includes 349 weapons from criminal activities, 642 owned by the National Police, currently in disuse, and others from the National Aeronaval Service, also in disuse.
This is the sixth weapons destruction ceremony held so far this year. During the entire administration, a total of 34,194 firearms, 470,691 ammunition, 7,323 magazines, 278 accessories and 4,858 explosive devices have been destroyed.
