More than 8,000 doses have been applied against Covid-19 through the “Get vaccinated in your neighborhood” strategy

The “Get vaccinated in your neighborhood” strategy carried out by the nursing team of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) has applied 8,050 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 during the tour to 23 communities in a week of work.

The detailed report by the head of Nursing at Minsa, Eusebia Calderón de Copete, reveals that a total of 6,786 doses have been given to adults and 1,264 pediatric doses to children between 5 and 11 years of age.

He indicated that, during the week of February 21 to 25, the nursing team visited 16 neighborhoods managing to apply 3,772 doses; of them 2,763 adults and 1,009 pediatric.

For this week of March 3, 4, and 5, the Nursing team will travel to La Peatonal on Central Avenue and in the Calidonia neighborhood.

The Nursing team has visited in the district of Curundú: the colored multifamily homes, New Generation project, La islita, Urban Renewal, Llano Bonito, Transport and Workshops, Cape Verde, Multifamily homes, Santa Cruz, Amanecer, Atardecer, Dacksun and Viejo neighborhoods Summer.

They have also visited the Spain, Santa Ana, Calidonia, communities such as Plantanilla, Agua Fría, Lajas Blancas, El Salto and Metetí in the province of Darién.

While through the program executed by the Social Security Fund (CSS) of visits to companies with more than 150 employees, 3,282 doses were applied in the last week for a grand total of 30,941 doses applied.

Of a total of 1,478 companies to visit to immunize their employees, the CSS program has managed to intervene in 613. Most of the companies are located in Panama Metro, Coclé, West Panama, Colón and Chiriquí.

It should be noted that the first dose was given to 1,436 employees of companies that did not have any dose against Covid-19.
