This Friday, May 27, the III Venezuelan Congress of Women, Monagas Chapter, was held in Maturín from the facilities of Esem de PDVSA, “Juana La Avanzadora” room.
The event was attended by the Minister for Women, Diva Guzmán; the governor of Monagas, Ernesto Luna and the mayor of Maturín, Ana Fuentes.
Guzmán announced that a total of 37,304 women have been recruited in the entity, ranking fifth nationally.
The state of Monagas has a quota to seek, register and contact more than 222 thousand women to participate in the III Venezuelan Congress of Women.
Following the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro who has emphasized giving priority to Gender Justice in favor of women against violence, Guzmán said.
The holder of the women’s portfolio was accompanied by Bitsell Montes, Deputy Minister of Housing; representatives of the Vice Presidency of Women and other government entities.
He explained that at the national level 600 thousand women have joined.
“The goal at the national level (…) is to contact and register seven million women. It is a debate that is called to build the future of our families. We are in the here and now, we are the greatest example of resistance », she said.
Topics considered
Gender justice, promotion of peace, workforce (entrepreneurship), training school, and women’s organization; were part of the topics discussed during the meeting.

The governor of Monagas state began his speech at the meeting praising and highlighting the hard work carried out by women not only at home and in the education of children, but also their role as a workforce.
“We are going to continue developing public policies that allow us to attend to women in a comprehensive manner, where we improve their quality of life, protection and, above all, we can reduce the levels of violence against them. The work of us men is to love them, love them and take care of them », she expressed.
She indicated that there are several tasks to further strengthen and empower Monaguense women.
He recognized that currently more than 80 percent of the enterprises are carried out by women.
The head of the regional government stressed that the presence of women is vital for the comprehensive development of the country.

Tania Valdés, a member of the women with disabilities sector, indicated that thanks to President Nicolas Maduro and feminist Governor Ernesto Luna, today we can say that we are avant-garde and daring women for the country.
On the other hand, Erlix Bejarano from the UBCH and communes of Maturín expressed that this congress serves to enhance the leading role of women from the political space and guarantees the well-being and comprehensive health of the family.
