The Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa, referred to the conviction of four of those responsible for the murder of the Paraguayan prosecutor Marcelo Daniel Pecci Albertini, which was perpetrated on May 10 on the island of Barú in Cartagena de Indias during the anti-mafia prosecutor’s honeymoon.

Barbosa pointed out all the work carried out by the CTI units of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Dijin of the National Police under the leadership of three specialized prosecutors, who carried out more than three thousand investigative activities to ensure that these four people were sentenced to 23 years and six months in prison in a maximum security prison.
“The whole deployment allowed the clarification of the murder in just 22 days and in just 38 days we obtained a conviction against those responsible, “said the attorney general.

The senior official also pointed out that “during the hearing the defendants apologized to society and the prosecutor’s family Paraguayan Marcelo Pecci.
A hearing judge issued a sense of conviction against the defendants, after endorsing the acceptance of charges made during the guarantee control hearings. At the time, the Prosecutor charged them with the crimes of aggravated homicide, and aggravated trafficking, manufacture or possession of firearms.
