More than 2,600 active cases of coronavirus are reported in Panama

One death and 341 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were reported today by the Ministry of Health (Minsa). Currently, 762,735 accumulated cases have been registered and a total of 8,160 deaths for a lethality of 1.1%.

The total number of people who have recovered from the disease stands at 751,821 with 181 new ones recovered today. 7,089 tests were applied for a positivity of 4.8%.

According to the Minsa epidemiological report, there are 2,754 active cases throughout the country, of which 2,651 are in home isolation and 103 are hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 2,625 at home and 26 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 97 in the Ward and 6 in the ICU.

Regarding vaccination, they highlighted that there is a coverage of 48% in children aged 5 to 11 years with 247,268 first doses applied to a target population of 515,487 infants.

In total, 7,889,044 doses of vaccines against the coronavirus have been applied in Panama since the arrival of the first vaccines in January 2021. A total of 3,434,847 have been placed in the first dose; 3,017,898 in the second dose and 1,424,842 in the booster dose.
