The political leader Luis Aníbal Schupp reported on networks, two weeks ago, that “the boss of evil” (it would be Horacio Cartes) delivered the sum of US$ 500,000 to a presidential candidate so that he would not give up his claims during the first days of January .
This candidate would be Euclides Acevedo of the “New Republic” movement, who has the support of several progressive sectors considering that the vice president of his sheet is Jorge Querey, senator for the Guasu Front.
Monsignor Mario Melanio Medina, told radio Libre 1200 AM that Euclides disappointed him from the moment he decided to participate as an independent in the next general elections, knowing that he could only subtract votes from the opposition.
“At the time of the dictatorship, we conspired against the dictator. One always believed him an opponent. But the feedback from people is that he gets help and funding from Cartes to do that. And if it is not true, it is plausible (credible). Since Cartes is everywhere to get favors because he needs to. He, like Payo, never spoke ill of Cartes. And we know that Cartes helps but we must not speak ill of him, ”he said.
The religious leader pointed out that it is striking that Acevedo is attacking the Concertación and Efraín Alegre, leader of said bloc.
“Of course he is, surely, in collusion with those who want to weaken the Concertación for which he does not want a change in the structure. Something has to be changed because we have to look for improvements, ”he said.
He affirmed that from the moment that Euclides decided to accept to be part of the Government of Abdo Benítez as Minister of the Interior, he was disappointed. And more when he began to testify against the Concertación.
“I believe that the Freemasons are with the status quo, they may have warmed his head to present himself since Euclid is a benchmark for them. He can subtract votes from Efraín and even from the Colorados. But an intelligent guy who wants to seek change cannot do that, his attitude is not explainable, ”he said.
Finally, he argued that since we lack philosophers and statistics in politics, one looks for money, a place, accommodations and living well at the expense of politics.
“I think it’s functional to the status quo. Euclid is a pawn of Cartes. He is doing everything possible with money. We know that Euclid is not a hard worker. he wants to live well, at the expense of politics, ”he sentenced.
The next general elections will be on April 30 of this year. Santiago Peña for the ANR (Government party) and Efraín Alegre for the National Concertation of opposition parties, are the main candidates. In addition, there are figures such as Euclides Acevedo, the former Paraguayan senator Cubas and the former captain of the national team, José Luis Chilavert, who also aspire to the Executive for the period 2023-2028.
