Mobility 2022: CDMX will prioritize projects by allocating more budget

Budget increase for transportation in CDMX

The different transportation systems will receive more resources this 2022 compared to last year, according to the Expenditure Budget.

Metrobus
2022: 2,586 million 255,000 pesos
2021: 2,011 million 66,186 pesos

Passenger Transport Network (RTP)
2022: 2,908 million 778,927 pesos
2021: 1,706 million 431,659 pesos

Electric Transportation System (STE)
2022: 2,371 million 35,468 pesos
2021: 1,391 million 627,457 pesos

Meter
2022: 18,828 million 440,719 pesos
2021: 15,081 million 871,997 pesos

New Cablebus and Elevated Trolleybus

The Cablebús, which already has two lines in Iztapalapa and Gustavo A. Madero, will also grow this year with the construction of Line 3 in Chapultepec, which will have four stations: Metro Constituyentes, Constituyentes/Observatorio, Parque Cri Cri and Cineteca Nacional.

This project will be carried out with resources from the Government of Mexico under the execution of the Secretariat of Works of the capital; The works are planned to start in May to finish in December 2023.

One of the works to be completed this 2022 is the Elevated Trolleybus in Iztapalapa, which had first been announced would be ready in March 2021, however, budget cuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic led to the inauguration date being moved until June 2022, with an estimated cost of 2,900 million pesos in total, 510 million more than expected.
